Why it matters
The $50 fee comes out either way
CGC grades under fluorescent lamps, not your desk lamp. A book that looks 9.0 at home often comes back 7.5 at the grading facility. The grading companies have no incentive to offer pre-screening — they get paid regardless.
CoverRate gives you an independent second opinion before you commit. A high-confidence 9.4 prediction means submit. A low-confidence 6.5 means sell raw.
